The shamanic journey forms the basis of the entire shamanic healingprocess. it is the actual process through which the soul of the person travels to the various spiritual dimensions to get the knowledge and help form the friendly and the protective spirits to heal the person at the soul level. So it is but imperative that a person should master the process of the shamanic journey so that he is able to get the best of the healing by going on the shamanic journey with the help of the shaman. The first thing that a person should prepare for is that he/she sould take the fear of death out of his/her mind as the fear of death creates a lot of energy blockages in a person’s mind and hinders the smooth journey. Secondly, the colors red ,black and white could be used to improve the quality of the shamanic journey. They can stimulate the opening of the unconscious when they are used in the sequence. A person can be made used to respond to natural vision changes as the person moves from the light to darkness.

Further, a person should be well prepared to adjust to the various planes of existence. Since there are many planes of existence the human brain always find it difficult to adjust from one plane to another. This deficiency of the human brain can be overcome by training the person to adjust to the changing planes with the help of mirrors.
